† St. James Parish Plans Annual Fun Night

Escape the winter doldrums on February 11th at St. James Parish’s 23rd annual Fun Night.  “Cruising St. James” is the theme for this year’s event that will put you aboard the S.S. St. James for a night of fun and games of chance.

The Fun Night is held at the church in Cooperstown, and opens at 5:00 pm with a grilled sit down pork chop dinner. A large silent auction encompasses the entire parish hall, and a live auction will feature items that will interest all. Games of chance, such as the Wheel of Fortune, Balloon Bust, 50/50 and Sink or Swim will be highlighted throughout the evening. There is a chance to win a 2011 Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packer Football. A parish wide raffle drawing for a $1,000, an Apple I-Pad, Kindle with accessories, and numerous other cash and prizes will be held at the close of the event.  You need not be present to win the raffle.  New this year is a contest for the best dressed Cruise participant.  Come dressed in your favorite vacation attire, a character from The Love Boat or Gilligan’s Island, or in your finest Captain’s Dinner attire.  Several prizes will be awarded.

This is the main fundraiser that helps support St. James parish. Admission to the Fun Night is by advance ticket only with a limited amount available. The cost of $15 includes the dinner and an evening packed with fun and games. To purchase tickets, please call the church office at 863-2585.

The 2012 Bishops Appeal

This weekend kicks off the 2012 Bishop's Appeal.  During this weekend's Masses we heard about some of the things the Green Bay Dioces's Bishop's Appeal does for our faith and our community.  Please visit our 2012 Bishop's Appeal page and prayerfully consider what you can do to help support this year's appeal.

Circle of Faith Stewardship

A linked Stewardship Team is forming and we need people from each parish to get involved. This new group will focus on promoting Prayer, Service and Sharing. They will not be a fundraising committee. Whether you know nothing about the concept of stewardship, or are trying to practice this way of life, you can get involved. Losing a loved one is extremely difficult.  In difficult times it is very easy to feel isolated and alone.  There is help and support available so that no one needs to grieve the loss of a loved one alone.  The linked Catholic parishes of the “Circle of Faith Catholic Community” have formed a Grief Support Group.
