As Catholics, much energy is put into our formative years. We attend religious education classes or Catholic schools during our youth. Then once we are confirmed as adults in the church, those “religion classes” seem to end and we are left to find our own way.
Adult Enrichment or Adult Faith Formation is meant to help adult Catholics in filling whatever spiritual needs they may have. There is no structured curriculum from the Diocese to follow for this program. In fact, it has only been in the past several years that the Diocese has had a formal Adult Faith Formation section to help assist parishes in offering enrichment opportunities to their parishioners.
St. James has had an Adult Enrichment program and coordinator since 2001. In 2007, the Adult Enrichment Coordinator position became a shared position, serving all parishes in our linkage (All Saints – Denmark, Holy Trinity – NN, St. James – Cooperstown, St. Joseph – Kellnersville, and St. Mary Glenmore/Stark).
We offer a variety of enrichment opportunities throughout the church year. There is an Annual Retreat for Adults held in the summer. A Discussion Group meets twice monthly to talk about topics of interest, and there are Lenten class offerings for those in our linkage. We also support and advertise formation opportunities through the Green Bay Diocese or other Catholic Churches close to our communities. For current offerings, check the parish bulletin on this website.
