EucharistReturning to Mass

The 8:00 am Sunday Mass at St. James will continue to be livestreamed on Facebook into the foreseeable future for those unable to attend Mass in person.  But, as our Bishop has stated, "If you are healthy, you should be coming to Mass."

If you are experiencing any of the following, please stay home or return home and take care of yourself: • Cough • Fever • Shortness of breath • Sore throat • Loss of taste or smell • Have been in contact with anyone diagnosed with or suspected to have COVID-19 in the past 14 days (without proper use of personal protective equipment)

As you arrive, be aware of the following procedures

  • Your temperature will be taken. If it exceeds 100.4°F, you will be asked to go home.
  • You are required to wear a mask. If you do not have a mask, one will be offered to you.
  • Social distancing is to be observed at all times. If there too many people in the church proper, you will be directed to the parish hall, where there is a live feed of the Mass, and Holy Communion will be brought to you.
  • You will be asked to use hand sanitizer as you enter and leave church.
  • Missalettes will not be used, nor will the choir sing

To view a 2 minute clip on YouTube that shows how to receive Communion while wearing a face mask, click here.

Parish Mission Planning logo

There is an effort underway since fall of 2018 to re-define St. James Parish with the mission of the Dicoese in mind. Called Parish Mission Planning, there is a group of 5 parish leaders who are meeting monthly with members of the diocesan Curia to establish 3 to 5 goals that will help us to improve as a parish. For a list of the 20 areas that were considered for this effort, please click here

The goals that were chosen to focus on are:

        1. Survey parishioners about convenience of weekend Mass times

        2. Determine facility and grounds enhancements

        3. Engage more young adults

        4. Improve communication within and outside of parish boundaries

The Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen

Hail Mary

Hail, Mary! Full of grace, The Lord is with thee, Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
