sjc_logo St. James Parish Family in Cooperstown welcomes you here to our website! We hope the information and links will be useful to you. We look forward to you joining us "in person" for the weekend Eucharist. We are all on a unique faith journey and together, as a parish community, we can support and grow into what God our loving Father has called for each of us.

Sunday Mass Obligation Lifted

Bishop Ricken has reinstated the dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass in the diocese until further notice. We will continue to celebrate the Mass as normally scheduled for those who are able to attend and are willing to strictly follow the proper health protocols. During this time of increased infection, our parish will be even more vigilant about following the diocesan guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID 19, and allow as many people as is safe to come to Mass without fear of infection. The wearing of masks is mandatory at Mass.

If you are comfortable attending Mass in person, Masses at St. James are as follows:

  •  Saturday 7:30PM
  •  Sunday   8:00AM     This Mass is live streamed on our Facebook page: St. James Parish Cooperstown starting at 7:45am each Sunday until further notice.
  •  Tuesday  8:00AM

Religious Education

Classes for St. James Religious Education students are fluctuating between in person classes and at home sessions, depending on the status of the Covid-19 infection rate locally. Students have their materials at home, and should follow the curriculum and syllabus that was provided. Call Traci in the parish office if you have any questions.

 St. James Dinner and Dance

June 19, 2021

The Valentine Dinner and Dance has been postponed to Saturday, June 19, 2021. Organizers are hopeful that the Coronavirus pandemic will subside by then so that they can hold the event at Gatherings 43 in Denmark with a silent and live auction. In addition to the auctions and dinner, there will be live music for dancing and refreshments. The advertising poster with more details can be found by clicking here.

The drawing for the parish raffle will be held on February 13, 2021 as was planned previously.

Parishioners are asked to contribute items for the auctions if they are able. Homemade, handcrafted, and other unique items are especially needed.

 Good News!

A new, easy and safe way to contribute to St. James Church is now available using your credit card. There are options for a one-time donation or recurring payments. The Green Bay Diocese through its Catholic Foundation has made this method available. Now, more than ever, we are grateful for your support.

Parish Mission Planning logo

There is an effort underway since fall of 2018 to re-define St. James Parish with the mission of the Dicoese in mind. Called Parish Mission Planning, there is a group of 5 parish leaders who are meeting monthly with members of the diocesan Curia to establish 3 to 5 goals that will help us to improve as a parish. For a list of the 20 areas that were considered for this effort, please click here

The goals that were chosen to focus on are:

        1. Survey parishioners about convenience of weekend Mass times

        2. Determine facility and grounds enhancements

        3. Engage more young adults

        4. Improve communication within and outside of parish boundaries

The Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen

Hail Mary

Hail, Mary! Full of grace, The Lord is with thee, Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
